Solo interactive fiction · Chazz.ai
Using Chazz.ai for solo interactive fiction: pick or build a character, set a scenario, and play a story that carries state between sessions with a world that can keep moving while you are away.
For solo interactive fiction, Chazz.ai gives you a cast that remembers across sessions, a scenario that sets the situation, and an optional living world that keeps moving between your turns. You can play for months and the story is still the story you started.
Getting a session going
- Find a character in the library or build one. Anything published is playable immediately.
- Set a persona so the cast knows who you are. A persona is a full character card, so you can play as somebody specific rather than as a blank.
- Attach a scenario if you want a situation rather than a meeting, and a modifier if you want a house style.
- Play. Memory depth, reply length and pacing are all sliders you can move mid-session.
What makes it hold up over months
The thing that usually kills a long solo game is the model quietly forgetting the first half. Memory here is extracted, decays and consolidates rather than being the transcript re-pasted, so a hundred sessions in the character still knows what matters. How memory works.
When a session turns into something you want to keep, convert it to a narrated story. The cast is already attributed, so it comes out with the right voice on every line.
Where the fit is bad
If you want a game with rules that bind, dice that decide and a system that says no, this is a story engine rather than a rules engine. It will play along; it will not enforce.
Questions
- Can I play a long solo story with AI?
- Yes. Chazz.ai keeps extracted memory across sessions, so a story can run for months without the beginning being forgotten.
