Character prototyping · Chazz.ai

Using Chazz.ai to prototype characters for fiction: give a card a voice, interview it, put it in a scene it would hate, and find out whether the person you wrote down is the person you meant.

Chazz.ai lets a novelist turn a character sketch into something that answers back: interview it, drop it into a scene it would hate, and hear whether the voice on the page is the voice you intended. The card exports, so the work is not stranded here.

Three things worth doing

  • Interview it. Ask the questions the manuscript never has room for and listen for the answers that surprise you.
  • Put it in the wrong room. A character shows most under pressure they were not designed for.
  • Run it against another of your characters. Two cards in one scenario finds the relationship faster than an outline does.

What to trust and what not to

Treat the output as an improvisation by an actor who has read your notes, not as authority about your character. It is useful for what it reveals about the notes: a card that produces flat dialogue usually has a flat description behind it, and that is worth knowing before chapter nine.

Cards export in the portable format, and everything generated is marked, so a scene lifted into a manuscript can be identified as AI output later. That matters if you publish somewhere with a disclosure requirement.

Questions

Can I use AI to develop a character for a novel?
Yes. A character card can be interviewed and put in scenes to test the voice. Output is marked as AI-generated, which matters where disclosure is required.
