What is stored, what is public, what encryption covers, and how to delete everything.
What other people can see
A creator profile exists only for accounts that have claimed a handle, and it is reachable only by direct link. There is no creator directory and no way to search for a person.
- Your handle: Public. It appears on your published content and your comments, and it is what a creator profile is keyed on.
- Your display name: Private. Only you see it.
- Your email: Never shown to other users anywhere.
- Published content: Whatever you have ticked the public switch on.
- Conversations: Never public.
The private chat vault
The vault encrypts selected chats on your device, so what reaches storage is ciphertext rather than readable message text.
If you lose the passphrase, vaulted content cannot be recovered by anyone, including support. That is what makes it a vault.
Migrating existing chats into the vault does not currently work. The control is present but reports that the migration is temporarily unavailable. The vault protects chats going forward. Source: web/src/views/user/Settings.tsx:245.
- Enable it: Choose a passphrase of at least 10 characters. This requires a linked account, so a guest session cannot enable it.
- Unlock to read: The key lives in memory for the session. Locking clears it.
- Disable if you want: Disabling turns the feature off. It does not decrypt content that is already vaulted.
Recommendations
Personalized recommendations are on by default, and are inert if you decline analytics in the cookie banner, because the events they learn from are never recorded without that consent, so there is nothing to build a profile from. They store a derived tag profile: which characters you open, revisit, add and search for, weighted by how recent each was. They never read your chat text, and nothing from rating-restricted content ever enters the profile: not the tags, not the fact of the open. You can clear the profile at any time from Settings, and switching the setting off stops it being used.
Deleting everything
Delete Account in the Danger Zone of Settings permanently removes your account, conversations, credits, cosmetics and subscription. You type DELETE to confirm. There is no undo and no grace period.
The app currently renders its terms and privacy text on the sign-in screen as plain wording with no links, and the terms and privacy pages exist in the codebase but have no route. Until that is wired up, ask support for a copy. See Getting help and reporting content.
