How explore works on Chazz.ai. The home catalogue: every public character, scenario, modifier and lore pack, with filters and a random pick. Explore is the front page and the main way to find something to play. It is open to everyone, including signed-out visitors. Tabs On the Characters...

The home catalogue: every public character, scenario, modifier and lore pack, with filters and a random pick.

Explore is the front page and the main way to find something to play. It is open to everyone, including signed-out visitors.

Tabs

On the Characters tab a second control switches between a grid and a swipe view. In swipe view, a right swipe opens the character.

  • Characters: People to talk to. Tapping one starts a brand-new conversation.
  • Scenarios: Situations. Tapping one opens a setup dialog so you can choose who is in it.
  • Modifiers: Tone and rule layers. Tapping one opens a preview.
  • Lore: Background packs. Tapping one opens a preview.

Filters

The filter bar is shared by every tab, so the same controls behave the same way everywhere:

Filtering happens on the server, not in your browser, so a filter applies across the whole catalogue and not just the page you have loaded. Lists page in at 24 items and load more as you scroll. Source: web/src/views/user/Explore.tsx:24.

  • Search: Free text against names and descriptions. Debounced, so it fires shortly after you stop typing.
  • Tag chips: Narrow to a topic. Combine freely.
  • Featured: Only items an admin has promoted.
  • Community Made: Only items made by users, hiding the platform's own seeded content.
  • Gender: Characters tab only. Any / Female / Male / Other.
  • Content rating: A restricted-content switch that only appears if your account is eligible to see it. See Content ratings and moderation.
  • Clear all: Drops every active filter.

Random

The Random button pulls one item at random from whatever your current filters allow. It deliberately bypasses the cache, so pressing it twice gives you two different things.

Adding to your library

The preview dialog offers Add to Library, Add to Current Chat, and Start New Chat (or Start New Adventure for a scenario). Saving to a library needs a registered account, so guests get a sign-in prompt instead. See Library.
